Buddhism for Beginners

Open to everyone with an interest in Buddhism

Buddhism for Beginners is a monthly class that explores the history, study, and practice of Buddhism in an interactive format. If you are new to Buddhism, looking to deepen your Buddhist practice, or simply curious about Buddhism, this class will be helpful to you! Every month, we will learn some of the basics of Buddhist history and philosophy; study classic texts and concepts used at Lion’s Roar Dharma Center; learn how to meditate;  have a practical "hands-on" learning exercise; and have time for discussion, where you can explore your questions and thoughts in a relaxed, friendly group setting.

Old Path White Clouds Book Cover GraphicThis class’s OPTIONAL suggested supplementary study text is "Old Path, White Clouds" by Thich Nhat Hanh. This engaging and accessible book covers the life story of the Buddha, his enlightenment experience, and his basic teachings.
