Service Opportunities
Giving to the community and supporting those that give
to the community is the fruition of our meditation and yoga
practice. If you have a service that you would like to provide
in the spirit of generosity (dana), please contact us at
info@lionsroarmandala.org.
We support and help coordinate the following opportunities:
Chaplaincy
Prison Chaplaincy: Since 1998 Lama Jinpa
has taught meditation and performed Buddhist services for
the California Department of Corrections at the two Folsom
prisons. There are now volunteers from Sanghas in Sacramento
and Davis. If interested in becoming a volunteer, please
contact Lama Jinpa. For a recent article about Chaplaincy
at Folsom Prison please see: http://209.63.142.214/issues/sacto/2005-12-15/news2.asp
Home Visits: Lama Jinpa, and when available,
Geshe Thupten Phelgye, are available for house blessings
and celebrations.
Speakers: Lama Jinpa and meditation instructors
are available to give talks to schools, universities and
organizations on Buddhist practice and education. Contact
Lama Jinpa at jinpa@middlewayhealth.com.

Monk & Nun Sponsorship
Lion's Roar Dharma Center is seeking sponsors to help provide
financial assistance to individual Tibetan refugees in India
who are in great need. The monks and nuns depend solely
upon our donations in order to continue their studies in
Tibetan Buddhism. Traditionally, to support a monk or nun
is the highest form of giving.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please email
us at sponsor@lionsroarmandala.org
If you would like to make a donation to the general sponsorship
fund, you may do so by credit card via PayPal using the
form below. Your donation will be distributed to those most
in need. (All donations are tax deductible.)
General Contracting
Peter Werhanowicz, a meditation instructor for Lion's Roar Dharma Center, runs Right Livelihood, a general contracting
firm. He is licensed and offers consultation, organizational
or “hands on” assistance in the form of home
repairs and improvement for people who otherwise cannot
afford these services. Work is offered at cost plus a “dana”
donation. Contact Peter at 821-0143.
